After a hard-fought game against Grangemouth, your Lady Dicks have taken the win 21-19!
Within the first 5 minutes, inside centre, Kels Silberman had a breakaway from the halfway mark to score the first try of the game. Fly-Half, Lauren Josefiak converted to bring the score up 7-0. Ten minutes later, number 8, Lucy Minty, stormed across the try-line through a rigorous Grangemouth defense to score the Lady Dicks' second try of the game. Josefiak once again successfully converted bringing the Lady Dicks up to 14-0. However, the galvanized Grangemouth Stagettes quickly re-organized themselves and scored two tries with one conversion to make the score 14-12 at half-time.
After half-time, the evenly-matched teams fought to gain ground against each other, with a heart-break on the Dick Vet side as outside centre, Kirsten Park crossed the try-line only to have the ref rule out the try. Finally, at about the 60 minute mark, the Lady Dicks' forward pack managed to charge the ball up the field, with hooker, Amy Fish ultimately crashing the ball over for a Dick Vet 3rd try. Josefiak, once again successfully put the ball between the posts for a score of 21-14. Grangemouth had another thing to say, however, as they managed to score another try at the 70 minute mark along with another conversion. The Lady Dicks managed to hold in defense until the whistle blew, and were thrilled to kick the ball into touch for their first win of the season!
